January Open Day
Sunday 27th January 10am – 4pm
Our koi are looking great in the slightly cooler water which is now at 15°c. As usual in January the feeding has been cut back enormously to encourage the female koi to begin to re-absorb their eggs which they started producing in December. Normal feeding will resume in mid February.
If you saw them in November you will be amazed at how much whiter the skin looks now, the reds are stronger and of course the black is firming up on all the Showa, Sanke and Utsuri. It’s no wonder that the All Japan Show is held at this time of year when the koi truly look their best.
There are many pre-season offers around from suppliers at this time of year and we are pleased to be able to pass these onto you while stocks last – offers available to visitors only as we do not offer a mail order service.
20% off all Pond Medications, Klay and Koi Food
As we all know pond medications do have a shelf life so now is a good time to check and stock up as necessary for the coming season.
Potassium Permanganate for Trichodina and Costia
Malachite Green & Formalin for Whitespot, Chilodenella, Fin Rot and Fungus
Fluke M – the treatment for Flukes
Salt - a much underestimated treatment.
Anarex Bio - Amazingly successful water quality product that helps repair wounds and damage quickly – many customers are already swearing by it. This is set to become the product for reducing the effects of bacterial infection.
Geoff goes back to Japan in early March so if you are looking for a special koi or a box of tosai to split amongst friends/fellow club members please let us know – at around £15 per fish, a box provides a great way to buy young koi for growing on.
To make some space all tosai from last Spring will be reduced by 20% as well!
Our website is now up to date again so please do have a look or better still it would be great to see you on the 27th. If you can’t make that day just telephone and we can arrange another time.
Geoff and Tina Kemp
